Risograph monoprints, 11× 17 in.
I use the Risograph in an uncommon approach. Instead of creating large editions, I use the technology to produce one-of-a-kind prints that layer image and color. The result contains a sense of mystery, light and depth. I begin with a photograph of a found shell, a metaphor for the home or the body; an empty vessel which once contained life. The image is printed and layered randomly with additional images on top, merging forms that evolve into ghost-like traces, reflecting on the impermanence of life.
